During this 4 week class, participants will learn to create a suggested piece of jewellery from the proposed project list - ranging from a link bracelet, bezel set ring / pendant and a prong set pendant.

Students can expect to walk away with 2-3 pieces of completed work with the 15 grams of silver included in the course fee.

Introduction to Metalsmithing – Level 2 / 3

Class Date: Tuesday January 16, 23, 30th and February 6th

Time: 6:00 to 9:00pm

Instructor:  Jennifer Wolfe

Class Outline: This Introduction to Metalsmithing  – Level 2/3 class introduces students to traditional jewellery making techniques, where you will learn skills such as sawing, piercing, forming, hammering, roller printing, stone setting and soldering.

Students will use a rolling mill, oxygen/propane torch, disc cutters, jewellers saw, pliers and hammers to create their own unique pieces. 

Students must have prior soldering experience to take this class or the first level Introduction to Metalsmithing evening workshop before attempting this class.  

Level 2 students (have taken beginner class) – suggested projects

  • Paperclip bracelet
  • Saw pierced butterfly wing pendant
  • Casting
  • Bezel set pendant
  • Bezel set ring
  • Link bracelet

Level 3 students (have taken more then 1 Advanced Class) – suggested projects

  • Crushed inlay pendant
  • Prong set pendant
  • Riveted etched pendant
  • Anticlastic bracelet
  • Intro to faceted stone setting
  • Plus any Level 2 projects

Students can expect to walk away with 2-3 pieces of completed work with the 15 grams of silver included in the course fee.

Payment Details

Workshop Fee: $390.00 +HST per person, includes kit fee for materials, consumables.

A signed waiver will be required to proceed in any workshop.

Minimum age of workshop participation is 16. 

Minimum 2 students must be registered for the course to run.  

Class Cancellation Policy:

If you need to cancel, please let us know 5 days prior to the class. Cancellations made later than that will forfeit the class deposit or fee.

We may reschedule or cancel classes if we do not receive the minimum number of bookings, or in case of bad weather or instructor illness. In this case, you will be notified and the fees will be refunded.
