Introduction to Etching / Introduction to Anticlastic / Introduction to Casting

July 14th – Introduction to Anticlastic – Join us for our 1-day workshop where you will be guided by our 2 in house Goldsmiths on how to form hoop earrings using specialty anticlastic tools, you will also learn to make a beautiful anticlastic cuff bracelet.
July 15th – Introduction to Etching – In this 6 hr one day class, students are a given a pre-etched kit needed to make a window pendant. Students are guided by our in-house goldsmiths through the process of riveting the pieces together and making the etched mandala earrings from start to finish. Choose between making either a Fern or Muskoka tree themed window pendant as well as a pair of Sterling Silver Mandala earrings.
July 16/17th – Introduction to Casting- During this creative 2-day workshop, students will get hands-on experience experimenting with 3 different casting techniques. We will introduce students to Splash Casting, Broom Casting and Lost Wax casting.
Day 1 – Students will experiment with Splash Casting and Broom casting. They will also make a love knot ring from wax and carve a basic wax ring for casting on Day 2.
Day 2 – Students will cast their 2 waxes via Vacuum casting and spend the day making finished pieces of jewellery from the 3 different casting techniques
Workshop Fee: $650.00 +HST per person, includes kit fee for materials, consumables.

A signed waiver will be required to proceed in any workshop.
Minimum age of workshop participation is 16.
Minimum 3 students must be registered for the course to run. Maximum 6 students.
COVID Safety precautions – Since the mask mandate is now over, it is up to each student as to whether they would like to wear a mask or not. Each workstation has their own designated tools/equipment with limited overlapping equipment to ensure safety.
Class Cancellation Policy:
If you need to cancel or reschedule a class, our CANCELLATION POLICY depends on the time until the scheduled class:
- Up to a week, a refund will be issued minus a $15 cancellation fee, or a credit will be given to attend a future workshop. Workshop credits must be used within a 60-day period after cancellation, or it will be forfeited.
- Within 48 hours, no refund or credit is given.
We may reschedule or cancel classes if we do not receive the minimum number of bookings, or in case of bad weather or instructor illness. In this case, you will be notified and the fees will be refunded.
