  • Create variation in your chain making through wire gauge, link size, shape
  • Finish your chains so they’re sturdy and stunning.

There’s no need to buy boring, store-bought chain. Join us and learn the art of chain making in this beginner level forging class. Create a beautiful classic handmade forged chain by forging and bending flattened sections of sterling silver wire to create individual shaped links.  Links will be joined by jump rings to create a bracelet.

Come explore ways to manipulate wire for chain making. Using sterling silver wire, we’ll learn how to use hand tools, pliers and mandrels to form different chain links and jump rings. Then we’ll fire up the torch and learn techniques for soldering wire and building more complex chain structures. This workshop will cover making jump rings, cold-connected and soldered chain links, strategizing solder seams, work hardening, and choosing the right kind of wire for your chain.
