Introduction to Titanium workshop
Class Date: Wednesday September 20th
Time: 6:00 to 9:00 pm
Instructor: Jennifer Wolfe / Katlyn Sumpton
Titanium is an amazing alloy – light weight, strong and hypoallergenic. Titanium can transform to an array of marvelous colours.
The Introduction to Titanium workshop is intended to familiarize students with an understanding of titanium and how to transform titanium into a piece of jewellery. In this mini workshop students will experiment with disc cutters, texture using hammers, the flex shaft and/or roller printing then the fun begins with colouring. Each piece can be one or multiple colours. A variety of colouring techniques will be explored to add dynamic and impactful contrasting elements.
Using controlled electric voltages through an anodizer, students create a rainbow of colours. In this class we will make one pendant and one pair of earrings.
Colours available are blue, magenta, shifting purple, teal, spring green, gold, and rose gold.
With small class sizes you will have the opportunity to have in-depth lessons and more one-on-one assistance.
All of the materials and equipment are provided for this class and no experience is necessary.
Please wear close-toed shoes, comfortable clothes, your hair tied back.
Workshop Fee: $90 +HST per person, includes kit fee for materials
