About The Stones I Use At Bliss Jewellery To Make My Pieces
Stone Information Sheet
Not only might I choose a stone because of its colour or shape, but I am also fascinated by their meanings which might be historical, modern or even magical!
Stone-lore dates back thousands of years. So I thought I would start compiling a list of the stones I use along with some of their properties.
Please enjoy reading about them as I build the collection of information up!
Aquamarine
Aquamarine is the birthstone for March.
Aquamarine’s name comes from the Latin for seawater and was said to calm waves and keep sailors safe at sea.
It was thought to enhance the happiness of marriages.
Labradorite
Labradorite is the birthstone for February and March.
Labradorite is a member of the Feldspar family and is treasured for its remarkable play of colour, known as labradorescence.
Stones are usually gray-green, dark gray, black or grayish-white.
They are composed in aggregate layers that refract light as iridescent flashes of peacock blue, gold, pale green, or coppery red.
